Visiting our friends

For the invitation of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Union of Poles, on 9-13 May 2017, a delegation of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce and the Kielce University of Technology, composed of: Katarzyna Grzeszczuk – employee of the Center of  Polish Culture and Language, Klaudia Łodejska – PhD student of Jan Kochanowski University, Kamil Dziewit Press conference of the Kielce University of Technology and Wojciech Bogucki, a staff member working with the East, went to the Dnieper, a Ukrainian city, from  we educate many students.

During the visit employees participated in educational fairs(trades), meetings with the school superintendent, representatives of the Union and the city government At the fair, both universities promoted the educational offer, student development opportunities, and the benefits of studying abroad. An important point of the fair was the meeting with potential candidates for students, their parents and teachers. It is worth emphasizing that the Kielce universities were the only representatives from Poland and our stand was very popular. Among the questions about the fields of study the most interested were: medicine, law, management, cosmetology, dietetics and languages studies. Student candidates were interested in a wide range of international exchanges within the Erasmus + program, which many of our students use every year.

Jan Kochanowski University, as part of the work of the Center for Culture and Polish Language, as one of the few Polish universities, enables foreign students to learn Polish and learn about Polish history and culture.

An important point of visit was the meeting with students of the school in Nowomoskowsk, a town about 40 kilometers from Dnieper, where Lech Krzyżanowski, vice-president of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Poles Association, interviewed local television and spoke with the school’s management.

The university intends to continue promotional and recruitment activities in Ukraine during next visits.

In the unofficial part of the trip, the delegation visited the city and met the students of our university in Dniepr.
